How To Configure PHP Version Of Your Site

When you create a website using ZipWP, it runs on PHP version 8.1 by default.

However, you can change this at any time — whether you need to test your website on a different PHP version or meet a specific plugin or theme requirement.

Here’s how to update the PHP version for any of your sites:

  • Click the three-dot menu on the site you’d like to modify.
  • Select PHP Config from the menu.
  • Choose the PHP version you’d like to use.
  • Set your preferred values for post_max_size, upload_max_filesize, max_input_vars and memory_limit (mb) — adjusting these settings allows WordPress to handle larger file uploads.
  • Click on the Save button.

Once saved, the PHP version for your site will be updated immediately. If you ever need to revert to a previous version, simply follow the same steps and select your preferred version.
