How To White Label Domain If the Domain Registrar Is Cloudflare?

If you want to white-label the domain for your ZipWP organization, you can simply do so by updating the name servers for your domain.

However, Cloudflare is one of the domain registrars that doesn’t make it easy to change your name servers.

So, if your domain registrar is Cloudflare and you want to use that domain name to white-label your ZipWP organization, you will need to follow a different approach, which involves generating API tokens for your website in Cloudflare and adding them in your ZipWP account.

In this guide, we’ll take you through the step-by-step process of white-labeling your ZipWP organization if your domain is registered on Cloudflare.

Note: The domain is white-labeled at the organization level. Therefore, when you white-label a domain for an organization, all the sites created within that organization will use your new domain. If you have multiple organizations, you will have to white-label their domains separately. Also, please note that this feature is only available on the ZipWP business plan.

Step 1: Generating API Token

The first step is to generate an API token from Cloudflare that will allow ZipWP to use your domain for creating sites.

To generate the token, simply follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your Cloudflare account and go to your profiles section.
  • Click on API tokens.
  • Click on the Create Token button to generate a new token.
  • You can use the “Edit Zone DNS” template, which will have a few permissions already selected that we need in the process. Click on the Use Template button.
  • Now, you need to provide four permissions – “Zone read”, “Zone DNS Edit”, “Zone SSL and Certificates Edit” and “Zone Settings Edit” permissions. Add these permissions.
  • Next, select the Zone resources for the domain you want to use to white-label your ZipWP account.
  • Click on the Continue to Summary button.
  • Review the details and click on the Create Token button.

Your token is now ready, and you just have to add this token to your ZipWP account to white-label your domain.

Step 2: Adding API Token In Your ZipWP Organization

Once the API token is generated, follow the steps below to add it to your organization.

  • Click on your Organization from your dashboard on the left hand side.
  • Click on Manage.
  • Click on the White Label Domain option.
  • Click on the Cloudflare API option.
  • Add the API token you generated before, then click on the Connect button.
  • Select the domain you want to use in your ZipWP organization, and click on Connect button.

And you’re done. Now, all the websites that you create with ZipWP will use your domain.

This is a simple process and will help white-label the domain for your ZipWP account if your domain is registered with Cloudflare. However, if you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
